Participants are on the ice twice daily for an average of 2.5 hours. Our staff will design each day’s practice plan with a focus on strengthening the basic player fundamentals for skaters and goalies through skating, puck control, off-ice training, goaltending and shooting & scoring.
SKATING: Progressive drills intended to develop and improve a player’s skating ability, with detailed instruction on balance, agility, edge control, starting and stopping, forward skating, backward skating, turning and high speed crossovers;
PUCK CONTROL: Challenging drills designed to develop and improve a player’s ability to control the puck, through instruction on puck control, puck protection, passing and receiving while in motion and stationary;
SHOOTING AND SCORING: Skills and drills designed to advance a player’s ability to shoot and score, with excellent instruction on sweep shots, wrist shots, flip shots, snap shots, slap shots, tips, deflections and creative dekes;
GOALTENDING: Drills right out of Rick St.Croix's training guide! Back to the basics will be the theme of each drill that is used this summer. Goalie instructors will breakdown the art of first save control, cross lateral movement, proper positioning and puck awareness.
