Each player will learn firsthand from Leafs and Marlies players and coaches, as well as several of the most respected and fully-qualified coaches and training professionals in the business.

 

Hockey School Director: Greg Schell

Greg Schell is entering his 21st season with the Toronto Maple Leafs, and was appointed to his position in youth & amateur hockey development by Ken Dryden in 2000. In his current role, Schell has been instrumental in helping shape the future of hockey in Canada by creating best practices for National Hockey League teams through child development hockey programs. Greg not only manages and operates all of the Club's development programs, he also plays an important role in the Club's Prospects Camp and is an elected member of the NHL’s Youth Development Advisory Board.

Keynote Staff Members of the 2012-2013 Toronto Maple Leafs Hockey School 

The Leafs Hockey Development staff is a group of dedicated, enthusiastic and knowledgeable hockey experts committed to teaching the fundamentals of the game to players of all ages and skill levels. On and off-ice support staff consist of Hockey Canada instructors, professional educators, scholarship athletes and elite minor hockey coaches.

Tom McDonell: Head On-Ice Lead
With 25 years of experience in coaching and development at all levels, Tom has been involved with the Toronto Maple Leafs youth development programs for the past 11 years. He has received the Herb Ebisuzaki GTHL Coach of the Year Award and Coaching Association of Ontario Excellence Award for Grassroots Development, among others.
Shawn Snider: Head On-Ice Lead
Drafted by the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds (OHL) in 1998, Shawn has playing experience in the OHL, ECHL, UHL, Sweden, France, and is currently playing in Germany. He has coached elite AAA and AA spring hockey for the previous three seasons, and is involved with skill development through summer camps in the GTA, Guelph, and Nova 
Scotia.
Rob Beatty: Goaltending Coach
Currently the goaltending coach for the Brampton Battalion (OHL), Rob is also a goaltending consultant to Hockey Canada, OMHA and Brampton Minor Hockey. He played on the Wilfrid Laurier University team for four seasons, where he is a two-time Queens Cup winner, as well as having professional playing experience in Holland.
Ryan Thompson: Novice Division Lead Instructor
Has been an assistant coach for the past four years in IP/Timbits, Tyke, and Junior Sabres Rep development programs.  Ryan will be continuing in the assistant coach role this fall for the FHA "AA" tyke team. He has previous work experience in the AHL, and has been at Toronto Maple Leafs Hockey School for eight seasons.
Aaron Logan: Atom Lead Instructor
Played high school hockey at Confederation Secondary School, and is a two-time indoor floor hockey champion at Fanshawe College. Going into his fifth year with Hockey School, Aaron also has experience working at our Leafs Clinic Series and Learn to Skate programs.
Kori Cheverie: Peewee Division Lead Instructor
A member of the Toronto Furies (CWHL), Kori previously played for the St. Mary’s Huskies (CIS) where she was a two-time First-Team All-Star, three-time Team MVP, and a two-time Female Athlete of the Year. In addition to her varsity career, she was also the head instructor for the St. Mary's Women's Hockey Camp and served as an assistant coach with the Nova Scotia Under-17 provincial team.
Charlie Rishor: Off-Ice Lead Instructor
Currently the Vice Principal and Director of Athletics at Bond Academy, Charlie has his Hockey Canada Coaching Level 2, as well as his NCCP Level 4. He has coached Novice house league for the Parkdale Flames, as well as other U12 hockey teams. Charlie played prep school hockey at Lakefield College School.
